BusinessTime readers invited to take part in important research study

The World Health Organisation recently declared the Covid-19 outbreak a ‘global pandemic that threatens the physical and mental wellbeing of everyone in society’.  Businesses have had to act rapidly to respond to the economic, logistical, health and safety as well as human resource aspects of the pandemic.  It is of utmost importance that in order to survive, the business community is able to learn from this year’s unprecedented developments.

The Consortium (www.the-consortium.uk.com) is delighted to announce that it is supporting a major Covid-19 research study by the University College Dublin (UCD) Smurfit School of Business.  The Consortium is a hand-picked group of professional consultants (based in Essex) that specialise in strategic and tactical business support.

The research study is entitled “Coping with COVID-19: Exploring Resilience Strategies of Entrepreneurs/Business Owners as they emerge from the Coronavirus Lockdown”.  The study researches the resilience of UK and Irish entrepreneurs and business owners as they cope with life and business in a post-lockdown world.  The attached flyer provides full details of the study.

We know how challenging this year has been for SMEs and we realise how critical the next few months will be. This study focuses on the impact of COVID-19, and explores factors which help and hinder the business owners’ personal and professional coping strategies during the pandemic.

We invite readers, business owners and entrepreneurs to participate in the study (incorporating a 20 minute online survey). The results will be shared with the participants later this year.  In early 2021 a series of virtual workshops will present toolkits of resources to help business owners to survive a future crisis.
