THE Colchester Business Enterprise Agency (Colbea) has announced the appointment of a new Chair, Sara Thakkar, to steer the enterprise agency towards continued success across Essex in 2020 and beyond.
Sara has an extensive career in business, reflecting experience and entrepreneurial leadership across public, private and third sector organisations. As current Chief Executive of Colne Housing, Sara has been an active contributor to the broader Colchester and North Essex Community and here in Colchester was an early “Colchester Ambassador” for the business Network.
Sara has held national roles on Boards of member organisations and is respected for her insight, foresight and business acumen. She brings to Colbea that wealth of experience both in business leadership and in governance excellence.
With a multitude of Essex-wide projects on the horizon, Colbea is keen to draw upon Sara’s skills and experience to help drive and deliver the future strategy and organisational development to broaden and future proof Colbea’s entrepreneurial services; with a mission to help more entrepreneurs and organisations than ever before.
Sara’s appointment follows the expansion of services in 2019. Colbea has been actively building on its provision of fully-funded business advice in Colchester by now offering this service in Chelmsford and Rochford, through partnership with Chelmsford City and Rochford District Councils, respectively.
