A TEAM from Colchester-based Horizon Construction has successfully completed the National Three Peaks challenge.
The team climbed Ben Nevis first, a six-hour drive through the night to Scafell Pike, and a further four hours onto Mount Snowdon, followed by a few celebratory drinks, a meal and a good night’s sleep!
MD Phil, Holding said: “Sadly two people (yes I was one of them!!) didn’t make all three climbs through illness or injury and achieved the first two, but delighted and proud that the remainder of the team arrived at the summit of Mount Snowdon in 23 hours and 20 minutes. It was certainly very challenging but enjoyable at the same time, and we were blessed by good weather and some of the most stunning scenery and views in the UK.
“Whilst the climbing team certainly had a challenge, I would like to make special mention to Matthew Bynoe, our Construction Director, who over the course 72 hours drove a minibus for circa 1,200 miles!! Not an easy challenge in itself.
“We would like to sincerely thank people for their generous sponsorship of our challenge, and for those of you who would like to donate, but have not yet, the link to our just giving page and charity is noted below.”
