Poacher turned gamekeeper

HIGHLIGHT of my week has undoubtedly been enjoying a poacher turned gamekeeper experience.

After 40 years of interviewing people, the tables were turned on me this week when the lovely Emma Goode, a Brentwood-based top-notch social media consultant who runs 24 Fingers, chose me as her latest ‘victim’ to answer 24 of her questions. The resulting interview is then posted on the various social media outlets – so everyone can discover that, at my age, what gets me up in the morning is my bladder!

It’s surprising how it focuses the mind when you have to come up with an answer quickly and without making a total ass of yourself. One question I would have liked to ponder on a little longer was, with which person, living or dead, would you like to enjoy a 24-minute skype conversation. I opted for Sir Winston Churchill and the Queen – but with more time, who on earth would you choose? There are so many absolutely amazing people throughout history, and still living, and so many questions you could ask. Imagine being able to talk to the likes of Albert Einstein and Adolph Hitler – two men who walked the earth at the same time and who depict the brilliance and horror of the human species – to see what made them tick.

Sadly, not even social media allows us to do this so if you are willing instead to put up with the more mundane thoughts of a magazine publishing-editor, you can watch the interview at https://www.linkedin.com/feed/update/urn:li:activity:6505850515698520064/
